The (Amazing) Blues Kitchen Shoreditch

I could say that you should come to The Blues Kitchen Shoreditch for the incredible food, or for the awesome décor, or for the music, but I don’t have to pick, because it’s got it all.

I was drawn in by this photo:

Yes, that’s a waffle burger complete with sweet bacon, melted cheese, spicy tomato relish, and not one, but two huge pieces of buttermilk fried chicken. It’s basically the size of two burgers. It even comes with fries, and it could definitely be shared between two. But you wouldn’t want to do that – that would be robbing yourself of the overwhelming sense of satisfaction and achievement that you get if you finish this burger on your own. Oh, and it tastes amazing.

But aside from this burger of wonder (which is September’s Burger of the Month so get in there quick!), The Blues Kitchen Shoreditch has a great atmosphere, and some sort of winning entertainment almost every evening. I’m looking forward to going on a Tuesday to swing dance the night away – for free! The place itself is also decorated to perfection, right down to the vintage fire extinguishers turned into lamp shades, and if you don’t fancy a meal the bar is very well stocked (but do expect Shoreditch prices for drinks).blues-kitchen-bourbon

I managed to find some stomach space to finish off my meal with a Hardshake, which was generous on the ice cream as well as the spiced rum. Our waitress Lucia was so lovely and funny too.

I don’t know if booking is essential but it filled up pretty fast, and I’d advise very loose waistbands whatever food option you go for. You might feel gluttonous by the end, but it is so worth it.
